AgriBusiness Club Co-Founder and Co-President Cole Hancock got the idea to start the club from research he conducted in 2019 on the integration of Blockchain to the Beef Industry. The research was funded and sponsored and funded through Wharton's Social Impact Research Experience (SIRE) and consisted of several weeks of intensive and on-the-ground, first hand data collection and observation throughout Kenya and Nebraska. Cole says of the experience "It was a fantastic first foray into the intersection of technology and agriculture. Being able to observe and witness the beef supply chains of two very different countries added a focus on the research to how this technology has the potential to affect supply chains and beef industries differently based on their level of current development."
